Very few Italian sets are in
this collection. Quality of average Italian sets was very poor if not indecent.
Power transformer was seldom used, the metal chassis being connected to the
mains. No internal loopstick antenna, no variable bandwidth, no loudness
control, no smooth tuning mechanism. In my opinion not one of the radios built
in Italy between the fifties and the sixties could met the now existing CE
safety rules. On the contrary most of them are harmful when used and even when
left inoperative, due to common use of asbestos.
Anyway this section also
contains other devices, as record players, tape recorders, home sets of other
countries and even some early solid-state sets.
